PERSONAL TRAINING.

The opposite of Skill Lab. Where Skill Lab is repetition, Personal Training is detailed correction — a coach focused on your specific player, in a small group of 5 or fewer, at a fraction of 1-on-1 cost.

Understanding the System

TWO PROGRAMS.
ONE GOAL.

Skill Lab and Personal Training are designed to work together. Here's the difference — and why the combination is the most powerful thing you can do for your player's development.

Skill Lab
Repetition
The coach picks one skill from the 800+ I'm Possible Checklist. The whole room trains it. Same skill, over and over, until it's wired in. Volume. Consistency. The curriculum never repeats.
VS
Personal Training
Detail
You pick your coach. The coach focuses on your player's specific weaknesses — diagnosing, correcting, explaining. Small group means every player gets seen. No one gets lost.
The Ultimate Combination
REPETITION + DETAIL = COMPLETE DEVELOPMENT.
Add Skill Lab to any Personal Training package for just $50/month. Most serious players do both — the combination covers everything a player needs to develop fast and correctly.
Why We Do It This Way

WHY SMALL GROUP
BEATS 1-ON-1.

We offer 1-on-1 private training. But Coach Warren will tell you straight — small group Personal Training is the better development model. Here's why.

✓ Small Group (5 Max)
What your player gains
Players get natural breaks — while their teammate is being corrected, they're watching, resting, and absorbing
They hear corrections given to others — and learn from them without being the one being corrected
They see other players make mistakes — which builds basketball IQ faster than just hearing instruction
They watch other players execute correctly — visual learning at game speed is powerful
They still get individual coaching attention — it's not a group class, it's a focused small session where the coach sees every player
More cost-efficient than 1-on-1 while delivering the same — often better — individual development
1-on-1 Private
The problem with 1-on-1
One kid working nonstop for 60 minutes — no breaks, no recovery, diminishing returns
No peer learning — they never see another player make a mistake or do something right
All corrections are directed at them — can feel like constant criticism without relief
Significantly more expensive for results that small group Personal Training matches or exceeds
💬
Coach Warren
"I offer 1-on-1 training. But I believe in the small group model more. When a kid watches another kid make a mistake and hears me explain why — that goes deeper than anything I could say directly to them. They learn from each other without even knowing it."
The Process

HOW IT
WORKS.

1
You Pick Your Coach
Choose from Coach Warren, Coach Teisha, Coach Will, or Coach Amir. This is the key difference from Skill Lab — in Personal Training you get to select who's working with your player. Every coach has their own style and strengths.
2
Group of 5 or Fewer
Sessions are capped at 5 players maximum. No exceptions. This isn't a group class — it's a small group with real individual attention. The coach can see every player's form, every rep, every mistake.
3
Detailed, Targeted Correction
The coach works on your player's specific weaknesses — not a pre-set curriculum. Diagnosis and correction. What's broken, why it's broken, and how to fix it. This is where players get better fast.
4
Everyone Learns From Everyone
While one player is being worked with, the others are watching. They're hearing corrections. They're seeing execution. Peer learning is one of the most powerful development tools in sports — and small group sessions are built around it.
Your Coach

PICK WHO
TRAINS YOU.

Unlike Skill Lab where you get whoever runs that day's session — in Personal Training you choose. Every coach on the Hoopology staff is available for Personal Training sessions.

Common Questions

BEFORE YOU
ENROLL.

Can I still get 1-on-1 private training?
+
Yes — we offer 1-on-1 private training. But Coach Warren's honest recommendation is the small group Personal Training model. The peer learning dynamic, the breaks, and the cost efficiency make it the better investment for most players. If you want 1-on-1, ask about availability when you book.
Can I switch coaches month to month?
+
Yes. You choose your coach when you book each session. You can work with the same coach every session or switch it up. Some players prefer consistency with one coach; others benefit from different perspectives. Both approaches work.
What's the difference between the combo and just doing both separately?
+
The combo is just the pricing when you have both active at the same time — Personal Training at its regular price, plus $50 to add Skill Lab access. There's no separate enrollment. You book through us and we set up both. The combination is powerful because one program does repetition and the other does detail — they don't compete, they complement.
How is Personal Training different from Skill Lab?
+
Skill Lab is curriculum-based — one skill from the 800+ I'm Possible Checklist, the whole room trains it, it gets logged and never repeats. Personal Training is correction-based — the coach focuses on your player's specific weaknesses and fixes them in real time. Skill Lab is volume. Personal Training is precision. Both matter.
Is Personal Training right for beginners?
+
Personal Training works for all levels — but for very young beginners (ages 5–9), Kids Lab is usually the better starting point. Personal Training is most impactful for players who already have some basketball experience and have specific areas they need to improve. If you're unsure, reach out and we'll point you in the right direction.
